A netizen named Al Mendoza has called the attention of Kami.com.ph to the plight of a young mother who is seeking for help in getting her premature baby discharged from the hospital.
In a Facebook post shared by the netizen, the young mother was identified as Jovel Santiago-Sevilla. Sevilla shared that her baby had been born prematurely at 28 weeks on October 3, 2016. According to the mother, it has been three months and the baby who was born weighing 1,020 grams (2.2 lbs) has been under hospital care since birth.
Now, her baby has already gained weight and is now at a safe 1,800 grams (3.97 lbs) but they do not have the money to pay for the bills.
Sevilla also shared that the hospital refused to accept their promissory note, and discharged their baby because of the hospital bills.
According to the young mother: "Wala lang po kami pangbayad. Ayaw po kasi pumayag ng ospital na magpromisory note kasi masyado pong malaki lang bill namin."
The post had been concluded with a heart-tugging plea, "Sana po ay matulungan nyo po kami," along with her contact details.
